A4J is a global civil society platform that was formed by a coalition of NGOs including Greenpeace, Oxfam, Transparency International, the Forest People’s Programme and IHRDA.

It seeks to build capacity, redistribute legal knowledge, create partnerships between legal activists, and empower communities through the creation of an informative platform to improve access to justice by providing practical advice on how legal action can be used for social and environmental justice.

The Alliance for Lawyers at Risk is an independent UK-based pro-bono network, founded in 2010, that provides moral and legal support to lawyers and human rights activists working in precarious circumstances. The Alliance supports the work of PBI and other organisations.

The Alliance was founded in 2010 by former high court of appeal Sir Henry Brooke  and is currently under the leadership of Sir Patrick Elias. Since 2021 it has been providing legal expertise, protection and support to the human rights activists around the world.

The Colectivo de Abogados "José Alvear Restrepo" CAJAR is a non-profit non-governmental human rights organisation based in Colombia. Founded in 1980, CAJAR comprehensively defends and promotes human rights, environmental rights and the rights of peoples, from a perspective of indivisibility and interdependence.

It aims to contribute to the construction of a just and equitable society in the perspective of political, economic, social and cultural inclusion. It has consultative status with the Organisation of American States, OAS, and the UN.
